Thank you.......

.....for all your comments on my last post.
Poster update......we're having a meeting on Wednesday to decide on the final one. Thanks to all your comments we're changing a few things to make sure we get noticed.
Ulrika has also been working on the new web site so it's all go here.....there's nothing like it in Exeter but I think that will change very soon so we need to make sure we're ahead of the game!

So far we have some great sellers but I'll tell you more at a later date.....think candles, vintage, homemade & mmmmmmm cakes!!!

No pictures today as blogspot decided it didn't want to upload.........after the week I've had it's no surprise!!! I won't go into details but lets just say it was trying!

So I hope to be back soon with a more exciting post as I received a parcel from Amazon today & my friend went shopping for me....I was suppose to go but feel rough with a sore throat & cold :(

Have a good week, don't forget Show & Tell on Sunday....see my sidebar for the next topic.

Kitchen clear out

Here are my kitchen shelves at the beginning of the week.......messy eh?
I've been dumping stuff on here for weeks knowing I was going to sort them out on my holiday.
I hate doing it as it takes for ever & my collection has grown since I moved in........I need more shelves!!!
You can read about the last time I did it here....whoops how long ago???

Better????

I found some cup hooks to display the mugs to try & free up space but it didn't work.

Spot my Homemaker china??

More about that another day.

After completing this mammoth task I realised I'd forgotten my EB mugs......oh no.....I'll have to slip them in somewhere. I've had to take loads off & hide it in cupboards.....OH hates my collections!!!

Just to remind you Show & Tell Sunday will be Sunday 4th April.....Easter Sunday.

The topic will be your favourite photo or picture & why.
I watched a TV programme about this & thought it was really interesting how everyone's taste varies.

It's ok you can have more then one!!!!

Back to work on Monday.......groan!!!
I didn't make my millions at the races so back to normal.

Happy Patrick's day....

What plans do you have?
I read on Twitter this morning that St Patrick's day was an excuse for English people to drink & get drunk mid week!!!!

What to do today????
I go out every year, to pubs, see bands etc......you can read last years post here. It's getting really boring now because no one celebrates it in my area.....the pubs aren't even offering cheap drinks. So the question is should I stay at home & do the gardening or try & party on my own????

Cheltenham update:
All my horses lost yesterday :(...........
However we did go to the pub & did a sweep stake for each race, I won 3 out of 4 which was £30.....yippee!!!!!
I did feel really bad so ended up buying a couple of rounds....... didn't have much to take home.
Today is another day.......fingers cross I win so I won't have to go back to work on Monday!

Happy Mother's day....

........to all you mummy's out there......you deserve a restful day!

A week of my holiday as gone already so here's a quick catch up.

The highlight of the week had to be......

(Picture from the BBC news site)

I didn't get to meet her or Philip but me & OH headed to the train station in the hope she would be coming in on the royal train. We stopped & had breakie on the way......OH did NOT want to see her but the idea of him waiting in the pub while I went with all the other 'saddo's' was too good to miss.

We arrived at the station with minutes to spare, the car pulled away from the crowds & I was stood on my own, it headed towards me & started waving......and the best bit was they waved back!!!

Now I know they were thinking...
'god look at that sad women all alone waving like a nutter' ...
but hey it's the thought that counts.......so I saw the Queen & the Queen saw me!!!!!

On Monday I met up with this little fella.....

His name is Samuel & it's the first time we've met since he was born in November....his mummy is my good friend Teresa, they live in Lincoln so I don't get to see them much so it was a lovely surprise when they called into Exeter on their way to visit family. We had a lovely afternoon in coffee shops in the sunshine. We've met for the last 2 years in London, we went to the zoo last year....now what to do this year??? I hope Innocent smoothies have their village fete again, that was so good.

On Wednesday I visited Stover Pack near Newton Abbot, have you heard of it?
No.... me neither but I must say it was beautiful, I spent about an hour walking in the warm spring sun with my parents & their 3 dogs...

Beautiful eh?
We then headed off for a carvery.....that was an early Mother's day treat. My mum hates the fact it's a day for people to make money so we never eat out on the day. She was happy we got to spend some time together & liked her bunch of Daff's I brought her. As I can't drive it's hard to see them unless they come to me, also I work funny hours so I haven't seen them since Christmas, it's more about time then fancy gifts.

Now one last photo.....

On Friday I re potted my plants as they haven't been done for 2 years. My Peace Lilly was looking ok but on closer inspection I noticed the plant had split & the roots were just sitting on the top......it didn't look good :(
On the Internet it said they like to be over crowed, well this pot was far to big for them...it that why they tried to escape???
So I split it into 7 plants.....is that right???? I'm in a panic now because they looked really healthy on the day but some of the leaves are starting to flop & have gone soft......not sure that makes sense. Has anyone else done this before?
I hope I haven't killed it because I've had it for about 5 years. It never flowered until I moved to this house & I often think it must have been really unhappy in the last house..........please help!!!!

I've updated the Make, Do and Mend blog with photo's of the last meeting....... that Black Box studio is very black...hahaha!!
Go take a look.

Holiday & Family.....

Well I finally finished him, what do you think??

None of you guessed this was what I was knitting with red & blue wool!!! The only problem is.......I now have other people wanting him & I've been asked to knit some of the other characters.

I made him for my nephew Matthew who celebrated his 1st birthday on Friday.

He loves him!!! I can't believe how fast the year has gone & how much he's grown.....you can see him here just after he was born.

Unfortunately he had to cancel his birthday party as he had slap cheek....what's all that about????
I saw him just before he went to the walk in centre so I've been really worried I might pass it on. My good friend Charlie (Liv's mum) has just found out she's pregnant .....after 6 years of trying!!!!!.....I'm hoping she doesn't get it.

My mum sent this photo of Matthew & Bracken (my niece).
Now what do you do if you have 2 little ones for lunch but don't have a high chair???

You put them in a storage box!!!!!

This photo made my chuckle......... I thought they both looked really cute......omg what's happening to me???? Finding babies cute????? I think I need to lay down!

I've been on holiday this week & it's been lovely!
I've waited 5 months for these 2 weeks off......it been a very long winter!
The weather has been brilliant but I haven't done very much...... I'll be back soon to let you know how I've been spending (wasting!) my time.

Show and Tell Sunday.....

It's here....the first Show & Tell Sunday......What's your favourite spot in your house???

Mine????

Easy!!!!!

I love my bed :)
Although as you will soon see it has it's down side but it's my room, I don't share this space with OH!!! I love having my own space, I think it's really important......somewhere you can lock yourself away when things go wrong. It's not very tidy but I don't care.......I don't have to feel guilty because no one comes in.

Beside the bed you can normally find this....

My towel box that I made years ago......(full of shoes now)

ooohhh look at that messy red tin (to the right) it's my coke a cola tin stool that I had for Christmas about 30 years ago.....hahahaha.....I hate throwing things away.

My lovely lampshade that Mel Mel sent me...

Did you spot Mrs Mouse on the shelf?? She was my favourite toy as a child.

The view from my window........

ok so it's not rolling hills but I don't care......I love next doors garden, he works so hard......me?
I prefer to lay in bed & watch him!!!!!

Now the naughty bit.....

OMG....just look at these shelves!!!! I thought I'd show you because my house is NOT a show home & I don't believe anyone has a perfect house in blogland.......so I'm being brave & showing you my mess!!!!
When I moved in 2 1/2 years ago I put all my boxes here so I could go though them slowly. Since then OH has not been happy here & wants to move...(as you know)....so I haven't bothered, it'll saving packing if I we do go....hahaha.
However now I've seen this I may try & sort it out.

A picture of my bed wouldn't be complete without a pussy cat.....

I love looking at this photo from the summer.......

Roses from my garden......summer?...... I remember that.

I'm off to look for your Show & Tell's.

Cheerio

Still time.....

Thanks for signing up.......if you haven't there's still time.
I'm looking forward to seeing your cosy favourite spot on Sunday.

At the beginning of the year I did a mosaic & decided I would do one every month so I could look back.......however 2 months have pasted & I haven't done any :(

So here's January.............

And February.....

I've been busy knitting this week.....something very blue with a hint of red that goes down very well with children...................any guesses???

I'm hoping to finish it tonight as it's a birthday gift for a little man......back soon to show you.

Only 2 more days of work left....yippee!!!!
