A Vintage Week

Today while looking back on my week I realised it's been a bit vintage!

It all started on Monday when I dashed through WHSmiths & spotted this...

As this is issue 7 I'm sure some of you would have already heard of it. I can't believe I've never seen it before (WHSmiths have only just started stocking it)..... I must say it's excellent! I've read it cover to cover & really enjoyed it..... so much so I've subscribed today :)

My favourite article.... it made me think of my Nan & all the questions I never asked when she was here :(

Make do and mend!

Jealous...moi???

On Tuesday it was more make do and mending...

I've also found out they're showing Shine On Harvey Moon on the yesterday channel

I loved this in the early 80's!

I found it while looking for Ration Book Britain....

Have you been watching? You can check out the web site here

The week was finished off by a little treat...

Prefect for the garden & it looks good on my shelves

So as you can see it's been a bit vintage in this neck of the woods!

  4. Hi Joe,
The first issue was online only but has bee printed since then but not widely available. I bought a few back issues at Vintage at Goodwood last year and we got chatting to the editor, really nice girl. I hope they make a go of it now it is in Smiths. Aren't there some fab programmes on Yesterday?

  6. that looks like a great magazine - what fun - I shall definitely keep an eye out in Smiths for that one and check out the website.

Sounds like a lovely vintage week - doesn't it seem like life was better back then, somehow - I suppose that's rose tinted glasses and all that, but it does make you think...

  11. Such fun vintage things! I want to be British. Where do I sign up? I love the way all the WWII things promoted postive attitudes and no whining! And I love the way your colorful shelves look -- so cheery!

  13. Oh God I want that mag! And where did you get your Dig for victory mug...I'd love one for the lottie?

Just want to say Thankyou for pointing out to me that there is a problem with a certain company I reviewed yesterday. I had no idea they are sooooo unethical. Have no idea where the hell I've been as I'm a regular visitor to Greenpeace. I'm about to remove the post and email their PR to tell them exactly why I've removed it. x
