OK so it's not that important but hey I need your help....
I started making this granny square blanket in March last year... I wanted to use up my scraps of wool... I decided to sew the square together like so.....
But I've changed my mind & have started joining them together like this.....
Now before I take apart all the squares I've joined together ...... about 80!!!...... I would like you to tell me which way you prefer!
Thank you....
I like it both ways but with the white it makes the 'main' colours stand out and 'pop' if you get what I mean? So I have to say the second way.
ReplyDeleteVery talented lady!
I think I prefer the second method ;-)
ReplyDeleteI prefer the second way because its like the squares are framed by the white edge and it looks fresher. Wish I could crochet! Love your blog by the way xx Gem
ReplyDeleteDefinately the second!

I will add you to my faves too. Looking forward to seeing the finished blanket - I can't imagine how much work goes into it X
ReplyDeleteDefinately the second way - but they are both lovely.

Joe, they both look lovely, but like others have said, i think there is something lovely about having white edging (I'm edging my new blanket blocks in white, a first for me to use white, and have to say I love it).
ReplyDeleteHave you managed to suss the crochet together method? please email me if you still need advice and I'll email you some pics, I feel bad i've not had time to do it en-blog yet, but could do pics for you via email...let me know hun.

Wow, that's looking really good. On balance I'd have to say the second - I'm currently doing one, and am framing/joining as I go along with red. I think a single colour helps make the squares stand out, but also unites them. It's going to be lovely. x
ReplyDeleteI like it. Beautiful. I like it with the white between.:-) Stina
ReplyDeleteDefinately the second one, the white really makes the colours stand out. I think Posy started one with white edging a while ago, looked great. Must be a pain redoing it though.

I prefer with the white, it makes it pleasing on the eye and each square more unique!
ReplyDeleteI admire you having taken it apart and re starting - well done!

I'm doing something similar at the moment - I bought a HUGE bag of wool off ebay and I'm making what my OH calls a "bad taste" granny blanket - bad taste becasue I'm picking the colours very randomly and just seeing how it all turns out!!! I think the white on your blanket pulls it all together and makes the colours really stand out :)

I think I'm going to have to say the same as everyone else and say the second way... although both do look great!

I Like the white, but I like it the otherway too, I don't think I can help much! lol
ReplyDeleteGlad to find your blog though :)
