Birdsong

I've been away too long again haven't I?

I'm finding that even when I have things to tell you all I don't seem to have the time to blog.

So my main news is that I went to see Birdsong the play in Plymouth last week!!!!

Thankfully the changing of my day off worked out well, I was hoping to see this in the evening but couldn't get home. My friend Helen also had the day off so we headed off in the very heavy rain!!!

I've mentioned how much I love this book just a few times!

I wanted to see the play when it came to London but I didn't get around to it & then it finished.

I didn't think that much of the TV programme..... it was good but not as powerful as the book.

I didn't have to worry about the stage show not being powerful!!

'Cor blimey..... it really hit home at some points.

The going over the top at the battle of the Somme was really moving & I had to wipe away tears!

The cast were amazing & the way they told the story was very clever...... they only missed out the 1978 part but nearly everything else was there..... unlike the TV adaption.

If it wasn't for the saucy bits & the bad language I would say take your children..... spread the word so no one forgets what these brave people went through.

The end was very moving although I did manage to hold it together unlike Helen!!!

You can find out the tour dates here

If it's coming near you..... beg, borrow or steal a ticket..... you MUST see it!!

Back soon!

  3. sounds great - well done for not blubbing too much at the theatre.

Am finding with blogging I am either too busy to take the time to post, when there is good stuff to post about, or not in the mood and not feeling like there is anything to post about! am hoping the mojo comes back soon!!
