Lets not forget the brave people who gave their lives for us

The joy they must have felt when it was all over

The hopes & dreams for the future.

April 2013

So another month as gone...... do you remember at the beginning of the year I said I was going to slow down & not let the months slip away?

Well it hasn't worked!! I feel once again this year is slipping through my fingers.

April was a funny old month...... teaching crochet at Make, Do and Mend, drinking rather too much, seeing The Wonderstuff, seeing The Beat, watching Jean roll & making tea cosies.

It ended on a bad note...... as you all know I've been struggling with work for some time now & last week I hit an all time low. 

I went to the doctors & I've been signed off with stress..... I think enough is enough!

I've been told not to make any decesions at all but just chill out & do what I want to do.

So far this week I've done nothing!

I need to focus on getting myself together for the next few weeks...... I have lots to make for Crikey so I need to have an action plan.

How does it work if you work from home? 

I need routine & structure otherwise I'm Mrs Lazy!!!

Great TV!

Okay so hands up who's been watching The Great British Sewing Bee?

Wasn't it great?? 

I'm so pleased to learn they're making a 2nd series. It's really made me want to dust off my sewing machine & finally make the item of clothing that I've been meaning to do for years!

I've enjoyed talking to customer about it too...... it seems everyone is watching!

We've been selling more fabrics of late to young & old, which can only be a good thing.

Anyone brought the book yet?

The Village

I thought the first episode was slow, I did enjoy it but it just gets better & better!!

It's really tugging on my heart string & I find myself fighting back the tears....... I don't normally cry at TV programmes!

Not sure why this is but the acting is fantastic!

I knew it was going to be good when I saw Maxine Peak was in it but John Simms as well???

Little Bert is such a lovely boy, your heart goes out to him.

I haven't watched last night, Joe comes back from the front with shell shock so I best get the hankies out!

So I haven't been about for a week...... not much has happened.

Working..... trying to appeal my disciplinary action..... going out too much.... much of the same really!

March Book Review

I managed 2 books in March...... if I'm going to hit my target of 50 I need to start reading smaller book!

First up......

And when David is old enough to wonder who he really is, he leads Edie through struggle and heartache to a life and love she would never have dreamed of..

I've never read any Annie Murray.... have you?
I really enjoyed this book, it's not going to stop the world but it was a really nice read. I think I'll be reading some more.

I read Belle (part 1) back in November..... although I thought this book wasn't for me I really enjoyed it & was looking forward to part 2.

This book is based in WW1 & wasn't as saucy as the first book!

Not sure I'll be reading any more of her books...... I did enjoy it but they're not cheap & I don't think I'd be prepared to spend that much for them.

At the mo I'm loving the under £2.99 Kindles on Amazon!

March 2013

March was a busy month even though I haven't blogged much!

It started with the first Crikey of the year, followed by Matthews birthday party, yarn bombing, a week off, granny square making, Birdsong at the theatre, The Men They Couldn't Hang & lots of hot cross buns!!!

It's been a good month.

I've also read another 2 books, I'll be back with reviews later.
